From a Spectator point of view 'ADAC Rally Deutschland' is perhaps the best kept secret in the WRC as it features a good variety of well-organised stages, and a service area & Super-Special in the beautiful historic Roman town of Trier, which is also our base for the rally. In 2013 the event will be held over the public Bank Holiday weekend in the UK, potentially saving some guests a day's holiday.
Rally Travel are the acknowledged travel experts when it comes to Rally Germany as we have attended every single event since 2001, and in 2012 our Escorted Tour visited 9 different viewing areas & 10 stages across the rally!
Please select our 'Self Drive' or 'Escorted' Tour buttons (above right) for information on our packages, and for descriptions of the different stages of the rally see below:
Vineyard Stages...
Saarland Country Stages...
Some of the fastest tarmac stages in Europe take place in and around the open, flowing countryside surrounding the old service area at Bostalsee . Some sections on the Bosenberg, St. Petersberg, and St. Wendler Land stages are absolutely flat-out and require total commitment from the Drivers, particularly given the often changeable weather conditions...
Baumholder...
This infamous stage held on military ground around the USAF base has seen several huge accidents over the years where drivers have crashed heavily after hitting concrete 'Hinkelsteins' (tank-traps!). For the spectator there is the chance to see the cars several times from one viewing position as the cars struggle for grip on the mixture of concrete, asphalt & gravel surfaces. It's now almost traditional for the odd thunderstorm to liven up the proceedings during Saturday afternoon as well!

Trier Centre - 3 star Primavera Hotel
We have been using the Primavera Hotel since 2001 and it is a firm favourite with our guests due in no small part to it's friendly atmosphere & popular restaurant which has entertained Petter Solberg, amongst others, in previous years.
The hotel is just 200m walk away from the Rally Parc-Ferme and a short walk to Rally HQ and the Ceremonial Finish!
Rooms are en-suite with TV, and Rally Travel have exclusivly booked all 30 rooms for our guests in 2012.
If you're coming to the ADAC Rally Deutschland you need to be staying in our hotel in the middle of Trier - no where else will do if you want the full WRC experience!

As we have so many International guests joining our Germany Escorted Tour each year via different routes/methods we have once again decided not to insist that Guests have to use a specific airport for 2013.
Instead Guests are free to chose how they want to travel to Trier and at whatever time is convenient on Wednesday 21st August, or earlier. Check-out of our hotel is on the morning of Monday 26th August but if Guests wish to arrive earlier or depart later we can arrange extra nights at the Primavera Hotel from just £60pp per night.
Our experienced Reservations Team can assist in organizing transfers for guests who are free to arrive at any of the 'local' airports (see 'Flights' tab at top of page).

Please see below an excerpt from our 2005 Info Pack which demonstrates the detail we include:
SS2/5 Dhrontal 1 & 2 12.61km
In our opinion Dhrontal is one of the best spectator stages in the entire World Championship, and one of the classic Vineyard stages of Rallye Deutschland. The stage traverses the vineyards, and clings to the side of the valley taking in some real high-speed, narrow sections and a number of steep uphill hairpins along its length. From the top of the vine-yard at Spectator Area 1 (Galeria Dhron) there is an unparrelled view of the stage with the cars taking in a total of 7 hairpins in front of you!
The stage also takes in a flat-out section along the main road to Neumagen-Dhron, something which you don’t find very often on tarmac rallies in the modern WRC. For 2005 the stage is back to it’s original length, losing the controversial opening section used last year, so expect the car parks to be busy if you arrive late.
Spectator Area 5C - Keltingrab
A completely new viewing area last year and a chance to see the cars braking heavily on cold tyres after the flat-out opening section along the main Neumagen-Dhron road. Spectators are placed in an old vineyard where the stage turns very sharply right through a junction onto the narrower road. Access and car park as per Area 3B & 4C but continue as far down the main road as you are allowed before parking up.
Spectator Areas 4C – Leinenberg
Access from the parking area on the main Dhron-Papiermuhle road same as Area 3B, and this time a further walk brings you to a sharp left corner into a right hand junction. From memory it’s a bit slow but has a large enough area on the inside to house a lot of spectators. There are better places to watch on this stage though…
Spectator Area 3B – Dhrontal-Kehren
A good section at the bottom of the vine yard, which whilst lacking the full panoramic view of Area 1A at the top of the valley, does give a good view of a series of 6 hairpin bends as the cars climb up from the main road. The atmosphere here is normally good with a large crowd gathered on the banking surrounding the hairpins, and a commentary position, food stalls, toilets etc.
In 2003 there was a very long walk across the opposite valley to the stage, but last year spectators were allowed to park along the main Dhron to Papiermuhle road, which hopefully should also be the case this time, making for a much shorter walk again!
In the past a bit further along the main road there has been another spectator area which gave entry to a fast downhill section through the trees, before an open viewing area where spectators could see the drivers really attacking the fast K-Right bend which takes them onto the main road.
