The format of the 2014 WRC Rally Monte Carlo will be confirmed later this summer but please click here to be amongst the 1st to receive details on our 2014 Tour.
There is nothing in world motorsport quite like the 'Monte' with it's unique blend of challenging stages often featuring dry asphalt, ice, snow & wet asphalt all in one stage!
We first started organising tours to the rally back in 2001 and are delighted to be able to offer once again an Escorted Tour which features a hotel actually stage-side on the Col de Turini, and a final night staying just 300m from Casino Square in Monte Carlo!
For 2013 we once again secured a small number of rooms at the most famous hotels in World Rallying, situated next to the incredible Col de Turini stage 1607m up in the Alpes Maritimes. The 'Turini' is steeped in rallying folklore and our Escorted Tour based there has been known to sell out in just one weekend!
2013 saw the return of one of our favourite stages in the WRC; the epic Sisteron stage which last time we visited in 2001 was the scene of one of the single-stage drives of all time when Tommi Makinen blitzed the opposition taking 20 seconds off rally leader Colin McRae with a brave & inspired drive on worn 'studded' tyres.
Our Escorted tour in 2013 visited the Sisteron Stage, 3 stages over the Col de Turini (including one in the dark!) and the Ceremonial Finish at the Royal Palace in Monaco.
Self Drive Tours
2013 - Monte Carlo RallyRally Travel will not be offering 'Self-Drive' packages for the 2014 Monte Carlo Rally - please click on the 'Escorted Tours' button above-right for information on our exciting 'Escorted Tour' to the rally.
We will however, be once more providing accommodation in Valence for the rally teams so please click here to send us your requests & we will contact you should any of those hotel rooms become available for general use.
4 night / 5 day Escorted Tour - Stay on the Col de Turini!
Our 2013 Escorted Tour to the Monte Carlo Rally features some of the highlights of our fast-selling 2012 tour but this time features 2 nights in a hotel on the legendary Col de Turini, 1 night in Nice and a final night in our hotel just 300metres from Monaco's Casino Square!
We'll also be visiting the epic Sisteron stage for the first time since 2002, which combined with 3 stages over the Col de Turini (including 1 at night in the dark!) and the Ceremonial Finish at the Monaco Palace gives us the opportunity to see the cars 5 times over the weekend, whilst taking in the best of the Cote d'Azur & Haute Alpes scenery.
MCR GOLD - Escorted Tour from £699pp
A provisional tour itinerary is detailed below along with the 3 different accommodations we will be using to cover this unique event.
We will be picking up the rally as things hot up after the opening couple of days around Valence, and plan to see the cars over 4 stages including the high-speed ending of the Sisteron stage + 3 runs over the Col de Turini stage (from our hotel balconies in some cases!) and also the Ceremonial Finish outside the Royal Palace in Monte Carlo.

Our 2013 Tour Itinerary - Day 1
Thursday 17th January 2013
Upon your arrival at Nice airport there is a complimentary shuttle bus service to the All Seasons Hotel, located adjacent to the airport & your hotel for this 1st night.
There will be an informal briefing in the evening by our senior Rally Travel Guide Neil Prunnell, who will be escorting the group throughout the tour.
The rest of the day and evening is free for you to explore Nice itself; stroll along the nearby Promenade des Anglais or visit the historic quarter of this bustling Cote d'Azur city.
Our 2013 Tour Itinerary - Day 2
Friday 18th January 2013
After checking-out of the hotel and taking breakfast we anticipate leaving around 08:30 for the morning transfer to the SISTERON stage, which is the main stage the crews will tackle during their long liaison section from Valance to Monte Carlo.
At 36km long Sisteron will be a real challenge for the competitors as it always forces a compromise on tyre choice with the normally dry & fast finish preceded by the icy climb over the Col de Fontbelle.
After the stage we will return back to the Cote d'Azur along the main coast road above Monte Carlo & then climb high into the mountains along the actual route the rally cars will race along the following day on the Col de Turini stage.
Our hotels for the next 2 nights are the only two located 'trackside' to the actual Col de Turini stage right on the summit, and you can literally walk out from the hotel's front door straight onto the stage!
Our 2012 Tour Itinerary - Day 3
Saturday 19th January
After the late arrival and check-in the evening before, guests will wake up to the clear mountain air and some spectacular views from our location 1607m (5272ft) up in the French-Italian alps!
After breakfast the morning is at leisure to walk part of the famous Col de Turini stage or just relax in the Trois Vallees hotel bar & soak up the atmosphere amid the many souvenirs & momentos donated by famous rally stars from the past. Signed photos of rally drivers past and present adorn the walls as rally legends such as Ari Vatanen, Markku Alen and Walter Rohrl used to decamp to the hotel for days on end during the unlimited recce days of the 1970's and 1980's.
Our 2013 Tour Itinerary - Day 3 continued
We have included a 3 course lunch on the Saturday for guests staying at both of our Col de Turni hotels, and this will be a great chance to spend time with the rest of the group whilst the atmosphere builds outside as the 1000's of fans complete their long walks to the stage summit.
(In 2012 several of our guest rooms at the Col de Turini hotels had balconies overlooking the stage and/or access to a viewing platform adjacent.)
The atmosphere at the Col de Turini is always incredible and this year we are in for a treat as we will see the cars pass through 3 times through the afternoon and evening, once in the daylight, once at dusk and finally the penultimate stage of the rally takes place at 9pm.
As the temperature falls into the evening the tension will rise, and it is likely that the final passage over the summit of the stage in front of our hotel will be the deciding act of the event.
Our 2013 Tour Itinerary - Day 4
Sunday 20th January 2013
After our 2nd night atop the Col de Turini we will head back down the actual rally stage, through the start line at Moulinet & the Italian border town of Sospel and down to the coast road to Monte Carlo.
Arriving at the 2 star Hotel Azur, Beausoleil (just 300 metres walk from Monaco's Casino Square!) we will take time to check-in into the hotel before the tour continues sans luggage with a tour around the Monaco F1 Grand Prix track en-route to the Ceremonial Finish of the rally at 11am in front of the Royal Palace.
Here traditionally Prince Albert II of Monaco gives out the winning trophy before the podium celebrations - a great opportunity to grab some photographs of the top 3 drivers out of their cars.
Finally, out guests are free to enjoy the rest of the day at leisure in Monte Carlo before making their way back to the Hotel Azur by foot, and perhaps joining in with some of the after-rally party celebrations later that evening at Stars 'n' Bars' or Jimmy'z?
Our 2012 Tour Itinerary - Day 5

Please see below an excerpt from our 2006 Info Pack which demonstrates the detail we include:
Stage 2 & 5 Guillaumes-Valberg 1&2 13:60km
1st Car due: 09:31 & 15:23 Road Closed: 07:31-17:23
Officially a new stage for the rally but roads around Valberg have been used in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, and the area seems perfect for hosting one of the opening days stages. Valberg itself is a small ski resort at around 1800m altitude and therefore should almost guarantee some snow and ice on the stage. We are recommending the finish section of the stage as one of the best sections of the rally as there are a number of cafes and small hotels in the village to keep you going between the 2 runs of the stage (09:31 & 15:23), and the finish section itself is likely to be covered in snow and ice. It is also one of the shorter stages of the rally and is possibly unique in that it is uphill for the entire stage length.
To Stage Start - Guillaumes
1) Take Exit 52 off the A8 motorway signed ‘Digne / Grenoble / Carros’
2) Reset your tripmeter to zero at the following roundabout & take exit & follow signs for ‘Digne / Grenoble’ onto the N202.
3) 25.1km Turn left here following the N202 towards ‘Puget Theniers’ & ‘St Andres les Alpes’
4) @ 51km drive straight through Puget Theniers (there is a left turn over a bridge here which takes you to the Saturday stages)
5) @ 64km Turn Right signed ‘D2202 Barcelonnette / Guillaumes’ on a left hand bend over a small bridge.
6) @ 65.3km Keep right towards ‘D2202 Guilaumes’
NOTE – the next 20km of road can be very dangerous with some icy patches around blind narrow corners. At around the 76km mark there are several points where the road splits to go around the rock-face & there are one-way signs to the right.
7) @ 83km ignore the right turn onto the D28 (for stage finish at Valberg) and continue around to the left towards ‘Guillaumes centre / Peone’. Then 100m there is the turning on the right to the D29 & stage start (just after small Tourist Info hut)
There should be parking in Guillaumes village itself for the stage, and there are a couple of small grocery shops and bar/cafes along the main street.
